Work Experience

My work experience to this point has been working in my family restaurant business for many years as a food runner and bussing tables as well as an internship as a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual. Working at family restaurants, it is very fast paced. It is important to be as efficient as possible bringing customers their orders and cleaning tables completely and quickly so there is no wait at the entrance to be seated. Also communicating orders with the chefs accurately and quickly is essential so they can get quality food to customers as quickly as possible.

The internship I worked at Northwestern Mutual gave me a lot of phenomenal professional experience in an industry I am interested in. I was able to work a full time financial advisor’s schedule as an intern and essentially run my own practice for the entire time I interned. I made cold calls and referral dials daily as well as running my own 1 on 1 meetings with clients and potential clients, giving them advice and educating them on the financial vehicles the Northwestern Mutual has to offer and how they can achieve financial freedom with those vehicles. I also worked closely with highly successful advisors in the firm and learned the ropes of the industry and how to carry myself professionally to successfully build trustful relationships with people. I feel my experience has given me the tools to be successful in any industry. No matter what my job is, I will always be able to hang my hat on my work ethic and my ability to build relationships and be a reliable, trustworthy friend and employee.
